Four Leaf Rover Saccharomyces boulardii for dogs is a healthy, probiotic yeast to help maintain a healthy intestinal tract and proper gut flora.
Yeast-based probiotics are unique because they're not harmed by antibiotics, like other probiotics are. Studies also show that Saccharomyces boulardii can help ease digestive upset during antibiotic use. This makes Saccharomyces boulardii the perfect choice for dogs being treated with antibiotics or other medicines that harm gut bacteria.
This friendly yeast delivers other gut benefits too. It helps maintain a healthy gut lining and studies show S. boulardii can influence parts of the immune system that maintain proper gut permeability.
While most probiotics are delivered in maltodextrin, this S. boulardii is made in small batches without any high glycemic ingredients. In its place, Four Leaf Rover use natural inulin from organic Jerusalem artichoke to keep the S. boulardii potent and thriving.
Each batch is third party tested for quality and purity.

A US teaspoon is slightly smaller than a standard UK teaspoon.
Recommended for dogs one year and over. However you can use Saccharomyces boulardii in puppies if they have been on a course of antiobiotics.
Use for 30-60 days before switching onto Protect.
Can Saccharomyces boulardii cause yeast infections?: Since S. boulardii is a probiotic yeast, people mistakenly assume it can cause or worsen yeast infections. This isn't true and, in fact, some studies show that it can reduce unhealthy yeast populations.
Can I give Saccharomyces boulardii if my dog is on antibiotics?
We believe you SHOULD give your dog this probiotic yeast when your dog is on antibiotics. Research shows it can help manage or prevent antibiotic associated diarrhea.
How is Saccharomyces boulardii different than Protect? Protect is the everyday approach to managing toxins and maintaining a healthy gut lining. However, drugs and antibiotics can significantly challenge gut health and balance by indiscriminately killing both harmful and beneficial bacteria. Probiotic yeast are less susceptible to antibiotic and drug damage, making Saccharomyces boulardii the perfect choice when your dog is on antibiotics.
Is Saccharomyces boulardii a natural part of my dog's gut flora?
Yes! S. boulardii is a normal part of the intestinal flora. One study showed that S. boulardii levels are higher in patients with unbalanced gut flora due to antibiotic use.
How quickly does Saccharomyces boulardii work? Studies show that S. boulardii can populate within half an hour when given orally and steady state concentrations are achieved within 3 days. S. boulardii also stays in the gut for 3-5 days, which is much longer than most probiotics.

Orders over £44.99 (and less than 3.5kg) are sent free of charge using Royal Mail 48 Tracked. There is however the option to upgrade to Royal Mail Tracked 24 for £1.49 or use a DPD Courier at £4.99
Orders over £130 will be sent with DPD or Royal Mail Tracked 24 if in the Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Scilly Isles, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland)

Orders over 3.5kg will need to be send with DPD as we are unable to ship heavy items with Royal Mail. DPD will attract an additional shipping charges – see below for more information.
