Propythium is a unique, patented solution to help with yeast infections in dogs, cats and horses. When applied to problem areas, it consumes any problem yeasts or fungi in the area for sustenance, relieving your animal of the itchy, irritating symptoms.

The effervescent tablet is added to a water spray (or bath) and applied to skin, hair, feet including claws or hooves. Within days there should be a reduction in symptoms and the skin should begin to clear up.

Can be used in conjunction with Propythium Oil.

The key, patented component of this product is a harmless little microscopic algae called Pythium oligandum. It normally lives in the soil where it works via mycoparasitism, consuming other fungi and yeast for survival.

It also has an antibacterial effect in the area while it is present. Once it has eaten all the fungi/yeast present it encapsulates and returns to the earth where it came from.

Useful for: all topical fungal or yeast infections of dogs, cats and horses, including yeasty skin, feet and ears. Suitable for dry, sensitive, chapped or eczema-prone skin. Also suitable for those suffering atopic skin conditions or allergies.

Uses: for the treatment of topical yeast and fungal issues on cats, dogs and horses (skin, paw, hoof, claw).

Propythium contains an incredible microscopic, non-pathogenic (doesn’t harm plants or animals) algae-like organism that normally lives in the soil.

There are over 50 species of it so far discovered but among the most useful are those discovered around the roots of many plants around the world, in particular Pythium oligandrum.

It works via mycoparasitism.

In essence, it consumes other fungi for survival. It attacks those organisms, extracting nutrients such as nitrogen, carbon, and nutrients for reproduction, and killing the organism in the process. It then creates zoospores that actively seek out more of that fungi and it’s spores.

P. oligandum is also antibacterial. It secretes enzymes that curb bacterial growth in the area so it is not disturbed while it’s doing its thing. Better still, studies show that despite a reduction in any pathogenic bacteria present, it does not induce significant shifts in the hose bacterial flora in the process (Vallance et al. 2009 & 2012).

Best of all, once resources (any yeast / fungi present) are depleted, P. oligandrum encapsulates and soon leaves its host to its natural environment, at which point all normal microflora returns activity can return to the area.
