D.E. Flea by Pure Vet Products is freshwater food grade Diatomaceous Earth. It is non-chemical, consisting of food grade diatomaceous earth powder.
It works in a completely physical/mechanical manner, with the D.E scratching the hard exterior of the insect and absorbing the lipids under the surface, effectively dehydrating (and killing) them. This means the insects cannot build up a tolerance or resistance to it.
The microscopic sharp edges of the diatoms enable it to cut through the insects waxy outer layer and absorb their fats and lipids, desiccating and killing them. The desiccation is facilitated by the high porosity and absorbency of the substance.
The food grade diatomaceous earth which should eliminate fleas, ticks and mites (as well as lice, flies, bed bugs, ants, caterpillars, cock roaches, snails, spiders, termites, scorpions, silver fish, centipedes, earwigs, slugs, aphids and most beetles).
It is safe to use on bedding, the floor and anywhere else in the home. Please note that D.E. Flea kills both pests and beneficial insects, so use accordingly.

HOW TO USE D.E. FLea
When "treating" fleas or parasites it is advisable to treat pet and home at the same time, to kill both adults and eggs as you need to ensure that new eggs have been killed and to stop that "life cycle".
Apply the dust in the same way as applying talc to their coats. Pay attention to areas such as the base of the tail, back, armpits, behind ears, under the legs; anywhere the fleas would congregate.
Also sprinkle on their bedding, the floor underneath it, the carpet, along floorboards, low lying cupboards etc.
Leave for 2 - 3 days and vacuum. You may need to do this at 7 days, 14 days and 21 days to ensure any new eggs are killed.
Attention for vacuums and asthmatics! Please go easy with the amount you use in the house as too much can damage vacuum cleaners and produce dust.
This is a very fine powder so for anyone with asthma or a lung ailment this could cause irritation when used in an enclosed environment.
Diatomaceous earth is harmless if ingested but should not be inhaled. Please wear a dust mask if spreading D.e Flea naturally, to avoid inhalation.
For severe infestations, it may need to be applied several times throughout the course of a month in case any have been missed. Moreover, their eggs hatch 7-21 days later, so a month will cover any adults you have missed.
If a flea problem is detected on a pet it is advisable to "treat" the home at the same time as the pet to ensure that both adult fleas and eggs are killed.
For indoor use, lightly coat a thin layer in areas where earwigs, millipedes, silverfish, coakroaches and ants are found or travel through.

- We do not work at weekends, so orders received after the cut off times on Friday will not be dispatched until Monday (There will be special arrangements for Public Holidays when orders will be dispatched on the next working day).

An Overview of Returns and Refunds
Unless faulty, you can only return a product if unopened, unused and with the original seals, packaging or tags intact. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to issue a refund for a supplement that your pet doesn't like or doesnt agree with them. All animals are unique with their own likes and dislikes.
You can return an unwanted item for a full refund (including minimum postage costs you could have chosen when placing your order) within 14 days of receiving it. You must notify us of your intention to cancel the order and you must return the item to us within 14 days of notifying us.
When returning an item, please ensure you take reasonable care as any damage in transit will result in us being unable to refund part or all of the money that you have paid. You are responsible for the cost of returning an unwanted item to us. Refunds are typically processed within 2 days of receipt of a returned item, but under certain circumstances, such as busy /holiday periods, your refund may take longer to process. The 14- day limit to request a refund does not apply to any item which is faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described at the time you placed the order. For damaged and faulty items, you have 30 days to contact us. We will cover the cost of these returns and once received will process a full refund.
