APPLICATION: It is suggested applying Snout Soother as often as possible for the first few days of use, but recommend a minimum of 2-3 times during this period. Apply just before your pup goes to bed at night. Snout Soother works FAST.
As a sunscreen, Snout Soother has an estimated equivalent SPF 9 and is best to be applied just before your dog is exposed to the sun. As these products are 100% natural and organic, there is no adverse affects applying several times per day for added protection, if worried.
DISTRACTION: After applying Snout Soother try and distract your dog for a few minutes to allow the product to sink in. The oils in Snout Soother absorb deep into the skin quickly but can be also be extremely tasty. By going for a walk, playtime, treat time or anything else you and your dog love to do should help keep them distracted while Snout Soother gets to work.
WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF? Snout Soother is 100% natural, safe and edible. Primary ingredients include nut oils and butters, which can be appealing to dogs, so they may attempt to lick it off. This is perfectly normal! Snout Soother will still work even if most of it is licked off, although for best results it is advised using distractions (as detailed above) such as treats or mealtime to allow more time for the product to work it's magic!
GRAINY TEXTURE sometimes the Snout Soother is grainy, what you are seeing is Shea Butter that has melted and then hardened again. This can occur when the product is exposed to heat or temperature fluctuations. It is a common occurrence with Shea Butter, but it is just too good of an ingredient to leave out!
The only way to prevent this process from happening is to use a chemical emulsifier which, for The Natural Dog Company, is not an option. Snout Soother is 100% natural, and they plan to keep it that way!
