An effective but gentle shampoo to complement the Dermacton Range for itchy dogs. This fantastic shampoo contains the same advanced anti itch formula of high quality essential oils & herbal extracts as the Dermacton Cream and Dermacton Spray, to soothe dogs with itchy and irritated skin.
Helps dogs with known skin irritations, dry skin, or dogs that just seem to be itching for no obvious reason!
The Dermacton Shampoo is perfect on its own for milder skin issues. However, if you have a dog with more of a problem then PetNat recommend using alongside their Dermacton Spray or Dermacton Cream for the best results.
If using the Dermacton Shampoo alone, it is perfect if your dog has problem with any of the below:
- Itchy Skin
- Dry, flaky skin
- To deodorise the coat
- Mild yeast overgrowth
- Clearing the coat of possible allergens such as pollen

How To Use Dermacton Shampoo Bar for Itchy Dogs
This shampoo bar is very quick & easy to use simply:
Following a successful patch test:
- Wet both your dog’s coat & the shampoo bar
- Gently rub the Dermacton Shampoo bar over the coat – It will create a lather with minimal effort
- Massage into all areas of the coat & skin, adding a little more water if necessary.
- Leave for up to 5 minutes to allow the ingredients to do their magic, then rinse well
The Dermacton Shampoo bar is mild enough to be used as often as required, although generally PetNat would advise that you bath your dog only once or twice a week.
Why is this shampoo in a bar as opposed to a liquid?
When developing this shampoo, after testing multiple formulations, the bar format was by far the winner for being high foaming (even in hard water areas), easy to use and long lasting, which makes it very economical and effective. Plus, it is also kinder to the environment by using less packaging. The bar format also ensures that the shampoo is easily distributed across the whole coat without having concentrated areas of liquid shampoo, which as well as saving money, makes it easier to rinse out. Please note- each shampoo bar is handmade, so don’t worry if it isn’t perfectly uniform, each bar has been carefully weighed.
Which dogs will benefit from this shampoo?
Any dogs who suffer from skin irritations, doggy odour or who are sensitive to harsh shampoos will benefit from this shampoo. Alternatively, anyone who simply wants to use a more natural shampoo without harsh chemical detergents and preservatives.
How gentle is this shampoo?
It is very gentle and mild, and conditions the skin and coat. Great care has been taken to source the gentlest surfactants whilst maintaining the highest performance and foaming properties. The ingredients are all naturally derived, and the shampoo is both soap free and SLS, SLES free.
How should I use it to get the best results?
For best results use it once or twice a week. Ensure that you leave the shampoo on the coat for at least 5 minutes to ensure the ingredients get to work. If your dog has a difficult skin problem, to get the best results, we recommend that you use the shampoo in conjunction with the other products from our Dermacton range. Allow the Dermacton Shampoo to dry completely between uses by storing in a dry environment.
Are there any precautions using this shampoo?
As with all shampoos, try to avoid getting any in your dog’s eyes. In the event of accidental contact, rinse with plenty of water.
What is the shelf life of this product?
The shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date of purchase when stored in a cool place.
Could my dog be allergic to the shampoo?
Whilst this is hypoallergenic, unfortunately, it is possible for animals to be sensitive to any ingredient natural or not, so it is always recommended that you do a double patch test before first use.
Can it be used on other pets?
No, sorry. This product has been developed specifically for using on dogs. Unfortunately it is not suitable for using on other animals.

An Overview of Returns and Refunds
Unless faulty, you can only return a product if unopened, unused and with the original seals, packaging or tags intact. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to issue a refund for a supplement that your pet doesn't like or doesnt agree with them. All animals are unique with their own likes and dislikes.
You can return an unwanted item for a full refund (including minimum postage costs you could have chosen when placing your order) within 14 days of receiving it. You must notify us of your intention to cancel the order and you must return the item to us within 14 days of notifying us.
When returning an item, please ensure you take reasonable care as any damage in transit will result in us being unable to refund part or all of the money that you have paid. You are responsible for the cost of returning an unwanted item to us. Refunds are typically processed within 2 days of receipt of a returned item, but under certain circumstances, such as busy /holiday periods, your refund may take longer to process. The 14- day limit to request a refund does not apply to any item which is faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described at the time you placed the order. For damaged and faulty items, you have 30 days to contact us. We will cover the cost of these returns and once received will process a full refund.
