A popular birth-aid with breeders, the use of raspberry leaf in pregnancy is documented as far back as the 6th century and is still recommended by health and veterinary professionals today. When used in pregnancy, raspberry leaf helps to tone and maintain the strength of the muscles of the uterus in preparation for birth. It is also known for its hormone balancing properties, and so these tablets are helpful for supporting bitches who experience phantom pregnancies.
How to use Raspberry Leaf Tablets - To help prepare your bitch for whelping, it is recommended to start using our Raspberry Leaf Tablets three weeks after mating and continue until one week after whelping.
To help support bitches who experience phantom pregnancies, use from the first sign of her coming into season and continue for 12 weeks (which is when she would have whelped had she been mated). Ensure you continue in this way for every season, unless she is mated. While Dorwest recommend using Raspberry Leaf Tablets from the first day of your dog’s season, they can still be useful if your bitch is already showing signs of a phantom pregnancy.
How does raspberry leaf work? - Dorwest's Raspberry Leaf Tablets use high quality raspberry leaf extract, packed full of natural compounds to help prepare your bitch for whelping, and support those who experience phantom pregnancies.
Raspberry leaf contains:
- Fragarine - tones the uterus
- Iron - important for normal red blood cells
- Tannins - helps normal clotting and tones and maintains strength of the reproductive organs
- Vitamins A, C, B, E, calcium and magnesium - all important for pregnancy, magnesium particularly helps to maintain strength of the uterine muscles. Vitamin B helps to regulate hormones
What is a pseudo- or phantom pregnancy? False, pseudo or phantom pregnancies can affect un-neutered bitches due to individual response to normal hormonal changes associated with her season. They usually start after the first or second season and unfortunately, if your dog has a tendency to these, she`s likely to suffer season after season with symptoms of increasing severity. These symptoms range from mild unsettled behaviour to more extreme nesting habits such as carrying toys, looking for pups and depression. Physical changes can also occur, including a change in body shape, enlarged teats and even milk production.

Administration: During pregnancy: 1 tablet per 10kgs bodyweight daily from third week of gestation until one week after whelping or kittening. For support during phantom pregnancy: 2 tablets per 10kgs bodyweight daily from the start of the season for 12 weeks.

An Overview of Returns and Refunds
Unless faulty, you can only return a product if unopened, unused and with the original seals, packaging or tags intact. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to issue a refund for a supplement that your pet doesn't like or doesnt agree with them. All animals are unique with their own likes and dislikes.
You can return an unwanted item for a full refund (including minimum postage costs you could have chosen when placing your order) within 14 days of receiving it. You must notify us of your intention to cancel the order and you must return the item to us within 14 days of notifying us.
When returning an item, please ensure you take reasonable care as any damage in transit will result in us being unable to refund part or all of the money that you have paid. You are responsible for the cost of returning an unwanted item to us. Refunds are typically processed within 2 days of receipt of a returned item, but under certain circumstances, such as busy /holiday periods, your refund may take longer to process. The 14- day limit to request a refund does not apply to any item which is faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described at the time you placed the order. For damaged and faulty items, you have 30 days to contact us. We will cover the cost of these returns and once received will process a full refund.
